About Me


I'm Jemma, the girl behind Blundell Bakes!

I started baking professionally in 2017, but it first began with a love for loaf cakes back in 2014. I studied photography at University while running a baking blog on the side. I would think up new recipes, photograph them and write about them on my ‘Bakealoaf’ blog. This led to my job as a recipe developer at Bakedin, where I worked alongside the great, late Michel Roux Senior, who approved all my recipes.

I decided to start my own business in September 2020. Like many others, my love of baking cakes got me through lockdown, so I decided there was no greater time to take a stab at my dream business venture.

Blundell Bakes offers bespoke cakes for any occasion, decadent brownies, blondies and traybakes, plus cupcakes and iced biscuit boxes that are perfect gifts.


I offer a collection service and postal bakes, supply a local coffee shop and attend as many events as I can fit in. I am very proud of how far this little business has come and so thankful to all my lovely customers.
